The 91福利社 College of Health Professions has launched a new Bachelor of Science in Community and Public Health degree program.听
Graduates of the Community and Public Health BS program will be prepared to actively participate in entry-level public health roles, contributing to the implementation and progression of all 10 essential public health services:听听听
- Monitoring health status to identify and solve community health problems听听
- Investigating health problems and health hazards in the community听
- Informing, educating and empowering people about health issues听
- Mobilizing community partnerships and action to identify and solve health problems听
- Developing policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts听
- Enforcing laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety听听
- Linking people to needed personal health services and assuring the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable听听听
- Assuring competent public and personal health care workforce听听
- Evaluating the effectiveness, accessibility and quality of personal and population-based health services听听
- Researching for new insights and innovative solutions to health problems听听听
The BS in Community and Public Health will also prepare students for further study in a Master of Public Health, Master in Healthcare Administration, or other graduate level programs. The program will include a senior capstone course involving an internship/experiential learning with internship partners such as community health agencies ranging from community-level to state agencies. Other possible internship settings include emergency and disaster management organizations, hospital settings, environmental health, epidemiology or health promotion and disease prevention organizations.听
