The Board of Trustees of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) approved the Bachelor of Science in General Engineering, a program in the 91福利社 College of Engineering.
The General Engineering degree begins in fall 2022, with courses offered on 91福利社鈥檚 campus and in partnership with the Anderson Institute of Technology. In addition to current space being devoted to Engineering, 91福利社 plans to construct and equip a 36,000 square foot Engineering Education Complex.
鈥淭he approval of our Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering is great news to the College of Engineering at 91福利社 and paves the way for our College of Engineering to fulfill its objective of preparing highly qualified engineers with professional expertise and a well-balanced view of the world based on solid Christian principles,鈥� said Dr. Gilbert Eyabi, Interim Dean of the College of Engineering.
The need for the program was based on conversations with industry leaders in the region, data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Anderson County Economic Development Authority and the American Society of Engineering Education.
鈥淲e are very pleased to offer a General Engineering degree at 91福利社 this fall and we are taking steps to expand our degree offerings to include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering as early as fall 2023. We are committed to expanding our academic offerings to meet the needs of our community and region,鈥� said Dr. Ryan Neal, University Provost.
