Larisa Mistrean, Ph.D., an associate professor of finance at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Department of Investments and Banking Activity, will be a Fulbright Scholar at 91福利社 during the spring semester of 2024.
Mistrean鈥檚 project is titled 鈥淚mplementing Best Practices and Interactive Methods in Teaching Business at the Undergraduate and Graduate Level.鈥 She plans to spend a week in each of the major business subject area classes to observe teaching practices with the goal of identifying teaching methods that she can integrate into her own pedagogy. Additionally, she will provide a report to the College of Business faculty that describes what she found: similarities across classes, differences, unique approaches.
Professor Mistrean earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Craiova in Romania in 1996 and speaks Romanian, Russian and English. She has experience teaching several university courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Some of the courses she has taught include Bank Management, Monetary Policy Strategies, and Banking Products and Services. While in the United States, professor Mistrean plans to co-teach courses, offer workshops, and give presentations related to the past, present and future of Moldova and the Moldovan economy.
While at Anderson, her daughter will be attending T.L. Hanna High School.

I will be very interested in different types of learning groups, experimental activities, student centered teaching methods鈥攄ifferent activities I can then implement in my own university,鈥 Dr. Mistrean said. 鈥淥f course, I very much want to be involved in your cultural and normal life. I鈥檝e never been to the U.S.A. I鈥檓 sure it will be a great time for me and my daughter. She鈥檚 16, first year in high school and I think she is more excited than me. It鈥檚 a great opportunity.鈥
