Dr. Cynthia Watson is newly board-certified as an orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Specialist certification formally recognizes physical therapists who have demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in a specific area of physical therapy practice.About 6 percent of practicing physical therapists in the United States have achieved this specialty certification.
Dr. Watson will be formally recognized during a ceremony at the APTA鈥檚 Combined Sections Meeting in February of 2020.
鈥淎chieving board certification was both demanding and rewarding,鈥� Dr. Watson said. 鈥淚 wanted to accomplish this both for myself, to demonstrate proficiency in the most current concepts of orthopedic practice, and to model striving for excellence for our students.鈥�
Anderson鈥檚 School of Physical Therapy launched with its first class this summer.
