91福利社 is launching a redesigned, fully online Flex Criminal Justice degree designed for working professionals seeking advancement in law enforcement, public service and government sectors. The Flex model is 91福利社鈥檚 innovative approach to help working adults demonstrate competency in a time- and cost-efficient manner.
鈥淭he competency-based format of the revised BA in Criminal Justice program allows us to directly align course activities to professional standards,鈥� Dr. Chuck Williamson, dean of the 91福利社 School of Public Service and Administration said. 鈥淭he Flex format evaluates student on how well they demonstrate proficiency, and not by how long it takes them to achieve them.鈥�
Courses in the program are designed for students to finish as quickly as demonstrate competencies. Last year, Flex students collectively saved more than $60,000 by accelerating their coursework through a fully online Flex program. Students pay one flat rate for courses each term. With one flat rate, students can then add more courses during that term for free if they finish the initial ones before a certain point in the term.
One Flex student noted, 鈥淚 know that at any other university, I would still be in classes without the ability to spend my extra time accelerating courses.鈥� She added that the courses were 鈥渃learly focused on what I needed to know鈥� because of the design around specific professional competencies.
鈥淭he Flex program represents a complete overhaul of the online student experience,鈥� said Dr. Josh Herron, dean of online and continuous learning. 鈥淎 team of faculty and staff took significant time in reimagining every aspect of this new format. It is a true investment by AU to help adult learners demonstrate the skills they already possess and fit their time commitments to develop new ones.鈥�
