The Kim S. Miller Family Enterprise Institute of South Carolina (FEISC) is pleased to announce Stuckey鈥檚 as its newest member. Founded in 1937 by W.S. Stuckey Sr. as a humble pecan stand in Eastman, Georgia, Stuckey鈥檚 grew into a beloved chain of American roadside convenience stores known for its pecan log rolls, pralines and other Southern treats. Despite facing challenges and a decline in the late 20th Century, the company has experienced slow but steady revival of the brand in recent years under the leadership of Stephanie Stuckey and the incredible team at Stuckey鈥檚, including CEO, RG Lamar, Jr. Emphasizing a return to its roots, focusing on quality, and reinvigorating the brand鈥檚 nostalgic charm, Stuckey鈥檚 is once again thriving as a symbol of American road trip culture.听
Dr. Brad Bechtold, executive director of the FEISC, said, 鈥淲e are beyond excited to welcome Stuckey鈥檚 to the Family Enterprise Institute of South Carolina. Their rich history and inspiring comeback story align perfectly with our mission to support family businesses. We look forward to having Stuckey鈥檚 as a member of the FEISC and learning from their experiences.鈥听
