There are less than three weeks left in the semester. Deadlines are starting to creep closer, final exams are right around the corner, and maybe you鈥檙e starting to feel a little homesick or just plain burnt out. Your days might feel full of to-do lists, late nights, and not enough rest. During this time of year it’s easy to get caught up in the busyness and stress of it all. But right in the middle of all the chaos, the season of Easter reminds us of something far greater than our current worries: Hope is alive! It’s not just a vague or wishful kind of hope, but a real, powerful, life changing hope in our living Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This season isn鈥檛 just about bunnies, baskets, and bright colored eggs. Those things might be fun traditions, but they鈥檙e not the true heart of Easter. The true meaning of Easter is about the incredible truth that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, defeated sin and death and rose from the grave. Let that sink in. Jesus came to earth in the flesh, lived the perfect life, was crucified, buried, and then walked out of the tomb three days later. That moment in history changed everything for eternity. It wasn鈥檛 just a miraculous event that we read about in Scripture. It was the fulfillment of God鈥檚 rescue plan for humanity. And the beauty of that truth? It鈥檚 not just historical. It鈥檚 personal. This means that your sin is forgiven. Your shame has been carried. Your future is secure. It means that no matter what you鈥檝e done, where you鈥檝e been, or how far you鈥檝e wandered, Jesus made a way for you to come home. He didn鈥檛 just die for the world, He died for you. And He rose again so that you could live a new life in Him.

Galatians 2:20 says,

鈥淚 have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.鈥�

So yes, embrace the exciting traditions of Easter egg hunts and chocolate bunnies but don鈥檛 miss the deeper celebration. The tomb is empty. Jesus is alive. And because of that, your life can be forever changed. That鈥檚 what makes Easter worth holding onto鈥攏ot just for one Sunday of the year, but every single day.

The Resurrection Isn鈥檛 Just History鈥擨t鈥檚 Personal

When Jesus rose from the grave over 2,000 years ago, He didn鈥檛 just secure our future鈥擧e changed our present. He鈥檚 not just a figure from the past. He鈥檚 alive today and actively working in our lives.

Romans 8:11 says,

鈥淭he Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.鈥�

That same resurrection power that rolled the stone away is the same power that is living inside you as a believer. That means you don鈥檛 have to walk through this season alone. Jesus is present in your stress, your questions, your weariness, and even in your messy, unfinished assignments. College can be tough. There鈥檚 pressure to perform, pressure to know your future, pressure to do everything well. But Jesus offers something completely different: rest, peace, and security that don鈥檛 depend on your performance but on His finished work on the cross. In the midst of deadlines and doubt, cling to this truth: Jesus is with you. He sees you. He鈥檚 for you. And He has already overcome the world (John 16:33).

Easter Is About New Life And We Need That Now More Than Ever

As spring begins to bloom all around campus, flowers opening up, trees turning green again, and sunshine lasting longer, 颈迟鈥檚 a visible reminder of what Jesus offers: new life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us,

鈥淭herefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.鈥�

Maybe this semester has been hard for you. Maybe you鈥檝e felt far from God, or maybe you鈥檝e made choices you鈥檙e not proud of. Maybe you鈥檙e carrying burdens or regrets that feel too heavy to let go. But the message of Easter is this: God isn鈥檛 finished with you. Every morning is a new chance to start again. Jesus specializes in renewal. He meets you right where you are and offers grace, healing, and fresh strength. Take a moment to reflect on something God has renewed in your life this year? Maybe 颈迟鈥檚 your confidence. Maybe 颈迟鈥檚 your faith. Maybe 颈迟鈥檚 your relationships. Don鈥檛 miss the chance to thank Him and trust that He鈥檚 still at work in your life.

Living Resurrected Lives at AU

So what does it actually look like to live like we believe Jesus is alive? It鈥檚 not always about the big moments. Often, 颈迟鈥檚 the little, quiet choices we make every day like extending grace to your roommate when they鈥檙e frustrating, showing up to class with gratitude, even when you鈥檙e tired, or offering kindness to someone who feels left out. It could mean choosing peace when you鈥檙e tempted to panic or even praying before a test instead of spiraling into stress.

Colossians 3:1-2 says,

鈥淪ince then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above鈥� Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.鈥�

Living a resurrected life means shifting our mindset. We don鈥檛 have to be ruled by anxiety, comparison, or stress. We can walk in peace, knowing we鈥檝e already been given the greatest gift that is eternal life with Jesus. Ask yourself, how can I reflect Jesus to others in this season?

Easter Doesn鈥檛 End on Sunday

Easter Sunday might come and go like it does every year, but the resurrection? Its impact never fades. It鈥檚 so easy to treat Easter like a one day celebration. But the truth is, Jesus’ victory over death changes everything, every single day. The same joy and awe we feel on Easter morning is meant to fuel us all year long.

1 Peter 1:3 puts it beautifully:

鈥淧raise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.鈥�

Let that 鈥渓iving hope鈥� shape how you walk through the end of the semester and into the summer. Don鈥檛 just let Easter be a date on the calendar, but let it be the starting point of something deeper. Walk in freedom from shame. Live with joy, even on ordinary or difficult days. Offer forgiveness to others as Christ forgave you. Make space for Jesus every day through Scripture, prayer, and community. Let the hope of Easter fuel how you live, love, study, and serve in these final weeks of school. The resurrection isn鈥檛 the end of the story, 颈迟鈥檚 just the beginning.

One Last Thing

I know this season is full. I know 颈迟鈥檚 easy to feel overwhelmed or even a little lost. But don鈥檛 forget the most important truth: The tomb is empty. Jesus is alive. Hope is real. And 颈迟鈥檚 for you. Because He lives, you can face each day with confidence. Because He lives, your worst days are never the end. And because He lives, you have a future full of promise, peace, and joy that nothing of this world can take away. So next week, as we come back to school after Easter and head back to class, studying for exams, and wrapping up projects, pause. Take a deep breath. Remember the cross. Remember the empty grave. And rest in the truth that hope is alive, and His name is Jesus!
